Gameplay Programmer to build interactive creative systems

We started Dims to make a place where creators who love open world games can come and build dynamic, interactive worlds and games together with their friends.

We want you to be able to make large 10x10km worlds, with your friends in realtime, as your characters. Going for a realistic art style. So if your dream is to create your own Middle Earth or the Star Wars world Tatooine with your friends you should be able to do that, all while messing around within the world you're creating.

We're looking for a gameplay programmer that will design and build the mechanisms and rules of creative systems players use in-game to craft and interact with the living open world they are making. For example:

  • Realtime co-creation of terrain editing, buildings, and more.

About Dims:

We are backed by two strong investors; one European VC fund and one Game Angel Investor.

The founders are me Tobias, a former business consultant and tech startup leader, and Fredrik who have built games, game engines, and communities for almost two decades. With us we also have two awesome game makers.

Who are you?

  • You have 3+ years programming experience and is curious to learn Rust 🦀.

  • You have worked with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.

  • You're autonomous and get things done.

  • Your ultimate goal is building awesome tools that end users love.

What we offer?

This is an opportunity to be part of building a startup from an early stage, and comes with the responsibilities and reward that reflects that. For this role we offer equity and a competitive salary plus benefits.

We have our own nice office in Stockholm, Sweden.

On-site hires are preferred, but we're open to applications working remotely.
