Tools Programmer to build creative procedural generation tools

As a Tools Programmer at Dims you would build procedural tools, and with these totally rethink how player-creation of games is done.

 

We started Dims to make a platform where creators who love open world games can come and build dynamic, interactive worlds and games together with their friends.

We want player-creators to be able to make large 10x10km worlds, with their friends in realtime, as their characters. Going for a realistic art style. So if your dream is to create your own Middle Earth or the Star Wars world Tatooine with your friends you should be able to do that, all while messing around within the world you're creating.

About the role

You'll be working both on the technical side of content creation, as well as content presentation, creating user facing creative tools such as:

  • Procedural tools that generates rich living biomes which sparks the creators inspiration and takes them to an immersive place. 

  • Procedural tools for intuitive high-level creation of buildings, enabling the user to lay out entire cities.

  • Materials and objects that has reactions and behaviours to make the world living and interactive, for example vegetation like moss growing on rocks and trees.

  • Shader / VFX / Particle effects tools.

  • And other tools that you yourself help define and build.

The founders are me Tobias, a former business consultant and tech startup leader, and Fredrik who have built games, game engines, and communities for almost two decades. With us in the team
we have another two awesome game makers.
